Meet Thai Simey

Thai Simey

Student, the BOEUNGKA EDUCATION CENTRE, Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Thai Simey, age 11, loves Cambodian culture and history. Because both her parents work, Simey spends her free time taking care of the house, including cleaning and preparing meals for her family.

The Boeungkak school is the first of its kind – teaching children who would otherwise stay home due to poverty or disease. The school works to educate both Simey and her parents, counseling them about the importance of giving Simey the learning tools that will help her lead a fulfilling life.

Our Programs

Aubrey NamakhwaIt may seem odd that F2F works in two countries on two different continents. But the similarities are striking, for Malawi suffers from poverty and high incidences of HIV, while Cambodia has the highest rates of HIV infection in Asia. In both countries, the majority of people earn less than a dollar a day.

You can help us improve the lives of vulnerable individuals through projects that create self-sustaining, long-lasting change for the better – explore our programs and consider adopting a project today.

Our Work in Malawi

In Malawi, F2F operates a field office that works closely with local leaders and groups of impoverished communities in and around Lilongwe. Collectively, F2F supports thousands of people living in poverty and suffering from diseases like HIV, TB, malaria, and malnutrition.

Our Work in Cambodia

In Cambodia, F2F works closely with the Salvation Centre of Cambodia (SCC), which supports Buddhist monks and nuns who help people suffering from extreme poverty and diseases such as HIV. F2F and SCC establish community centers that provide education and vocational training for the stigmatized, turning them into community role models with the ability to help others.
